How to sign your child up for lessons

Peripatetic Instrument Lessons

Each week, music teachers from the Cornwall Music Service Trust come into school to provide one-to-one or small group lessons for: drums, brass, guitar, flute, keyboard and violin. The lessons are not limited to these instruments, this is just what is currently taking place based upon demand. These lessons are excellent value for money, working out at about £6.00 a week for small group lessons. The teachers are exceptionally skilled and many of the children who have taken part in music lessons during their time at Bodriggy Academy have continued with lessons upon their transition to secondary school.

If you would like to sign your child up for instrument lessons please follow the link below.  You will need to register your information, set up an account and state which instrument you would like your child to learn.  You need to select ‘percussion’ for drums lessons.  It then allows you to select ‘drums’ after this. Flute is not currently showing up as an option but it is provided as a lesson here. You just need to click on the section at the bottom that allows you to note down an instrument that you would like your child to learn but is not showing up, currently.

There are subsidies available for families in receipt of certain benefits – it informs you of which ones during the registration process.

If you do not wish to purchase an instrument, it is also possible to hire an instrument at a charge per term. There is information about this during the registration.

The children who are learning instruments also get to take part in our Winter and Summer Music Galas, giving them the opportunity to showcase their skills and progression.

You will need to select ‘school based lessons’ then ‘Bodriggy Academy’. If you have any problems with the sign-up process please email office@cornwallmusicservicetrust.org  Unfortunately, we are unable to help with signing up for lessons as it is all run by the Cornwall Music Service Trust.

Throughout the year, we will keep you up-to-date with what is taking place, musically, in and out of school. We are keen to get out into the community and perform.  If you have an event or establishment that you feel would be suitable for us to perform at please contact the school on secretary@bodriggy.cornwall.sch.uk
