Carnival update...We only went and did it again! Not only did we win 1st prize for best walking group but we also won best overall entrant! A massive thank you to everyone who participated this evening, we were 150 strong walking through Hayle representing our fantastic school. Thank you to all of the adults who helped to carry props and structures, it was massively appreciated. The children were their usual amazing selves and fully embraced the carnival spirit. Thank you to those who took photos and have offered to send them in to us. A truly lovely community celebration and the mizzle held off until the end!

  • Inspired by Paralympic Football, Jack Rutter

    Thu 20 Jun 2024

The children had a fantastic time yesterday with Paralympic footballer Jack Rutter. They showed great enthusiasm in a range of exercises in the hall before having an inspiring assembly, where Jack explained the importance of never giving up on trying to achieve your dreams, whatever the obstacles in your way. It was a brilliant morning, and thanks to everyone's support, the children managed to raise well over £2000! Well done everyone!

  • Bodriggy work with Castaway Ropeworks to make the beaches a better place

    Tue 18 Jun 2024

    A message from Castaway Ropeworks...

Over the past few weeks we have been working with Bodriggy Academy with some guided beach cleans. These culminated today with years 5&6 attacking Hayle estuary!

The whole school has taken part, from the youngest to the oldest over a variety of areas and have recovered a vast array of items ranging from microplastic nurdles to tractor tyres!

We just want to say a huge congratulations to all the students for their boundless enthusiasm in beach cleaning, they truly are a credit to the school and the community!

Overall, excluding the tyres, Bodriggy Academy have removed 13.85kg of plastic and litter from our coastline!

On the subject of tyres, these have been on our beach for a few years now, they are both extremely heavy, many have attempted to remove them but today the students of year 6 achieved where so many have failed!

In-between tidying up played lots of games with our ghost rope tug of war line and our repurposed buff space hoppers!
