Happy children, achieving together.

On Thursday, we held the final reading tea party of the year where the six millionaire word readers got to celebrate with a drink and some biscuits. They also got to write their names on the millionaire teapot designed for us by Create and Paint! The teapot was purchased with a kind donation made by a visiting veteran who attended our VE Day celebration tea party at the end of our WW2 topic earlier in the year. The children also got to open the final delivery from Reading Rocks and see the beautiful new books we have been given. All word counts will reset over the summer holidays and we start afresh again in September, so any books you read over the summer, can be quizzed on when you return in September. Keep on reading! Year 6 Camp! What an incredible 2 days.
The girls' cricket team represented us brilliantly at the Cornwall Cricket finals held at Mount Ambrose CC! 5 games, all played in the very best spirit, with excellent individual performances and fantastic support for each other. All bowled overarm, all batted and fielded bravely and they ended up with big smiles on their faces. Huge congratulations to Libby who was identified as the player of the tournament by the opposing coaches, and huge thanks to Mrs. May for leading the team and umpiring throughout. Thanks also to Nicole Harvey of Somerset C.C. for her coaching and expertise! Well done, everyone!
The Truro and Penwith Academy Schools’ concert took place last night, at The Hall for Cornwall. Just over 500 children took part aged from 4 to 18. There was a real range of performances including choirs, bands, instrumental solos, drumming groups and a music tech group. It was a truly incredible evening and a real privilege to watch so many children engaged in music and loving every minute of it. Thank you to Mrs. Hocking for everything she invests in our singers and music in general!
